Andy Murray is playing some truly great tennis this year. His semi final in Australia was breath-taking and saw him play some truly extraordinary tennis. Now his straight sets victory over Novak Djokovic in Dubai in the semi-finals marks a significant achievement in comparison to his previous reactions to losing out in Australia. It seems his new coach Ivan Lendl…another giant of the modern tennis era…is a partnership that’s working well for both men. I hope they continue to prosper.

I greatly admire Andy Murray’s resolution, determination and hard work. He has the talent to be a truly great player. And with great tennis increasingly he brings a wry good humour to the court and to the game.

He deserves all he’s achieved and deserves to achieve greater things. I’m sure he has more than a single Grand Slam title in him and I wish him every success in reaching and then surpassing his lifetime ambition.
